Designed for a client of X4i Corporation, this product introduced a bypass valve to standard ventilator tubing to reduce the incidence of ventilator-caused pneumonia in hospitals.
Using Solidworks, models for the external tubes and internal valves were created. A mould was built based on the valves’ designs, and used to form flexible silicon material in the correct shape. The results could be used to demonstrate the function of the future final product.
The external tubing was sent for professional 3D printing. By combining the tube designs with the industry standard filter and silicone valves, the client was able to demonstrate his system to potential patent buyers.
