Electroluminescent Dress
Two dresses designed in partnership with Davina Hargrove. Electroluminescent wire, tape and panels were used to add distinctive lighting to each style.

Requirements
The dresses and headpieces needed to be sturdy, comfortable enough to wear for a long period of time, with lighting that could be removed easily for cleaning.

Electronics
EL wires, panels, and tape were attached to the dress with sewn velcro on the fabric side, and velcro glued with E6000 to the lighting side. Wire was sewn in with invisible thread. Inverters and battery packs were hidden underneath the fabric.

Fabric Selection
Black stretch cotton had an appropriate drape and could hide wiring effectively.

Headpiece
Headpieces used a combination of the FLORA microcontroller and NeoPixel LED technologies, which could flow through glowing patterns.
